Linen Bedding Size Guide
Standard EU and US sizes for every LinenOwl piece, with notes on how our cuts differ from generic charts. Each product page also has its own size selector with the exact dimensions for that style.
How LinenOwl pieces differ from a generic chart:
- Cut 3–5% oversized to absorb the natural shrinkage of linen. After 1–2 cold washes, pieces settle to the nominal size on the chart.
- Pillowcase sizes are the inner pillow area — ruffles and flanges extend beyond.
- Fitted sheets are deep-pocket by default; mattress depths up to the listed depth fit comfortably.

Duvet covers
Duvet covers run a few centimetres / inches larger than the duvet insert itself, so the duvet sits flat. Use this chart to match an insert size to the right cover.
US duvet covers:

Construction: closure with natural coconut buttons. Interior corner ties hold the insert in place (on request). French seams.
Fitted sheets
Deep-pocket cut, elasticated all the way around. Pocket depth fits standard mattresses including most pillow-top constructions — see each product's selector for the exact pocket depth.
PLEASE NOTE: Before placing your order, please attentively select the correct size that fits you. Note that the depth of the fitted sheet denotes the pocket depth of the fitted sheet, IT IS NOT THE DEPTH OF YOUR MATTRESS.
Sizing follows the standard mattress chart above (Twin, Queen, King…).
Flat sheets
Hemmed clean — no ruffles.
Sheet sets
Each set bundles the core sheeting for one bed (typically fitted sheet + flat sheet + 2 or 1 pillowcases). See the size selector on each product for the exact composition and dimensions per size.
Pillowcases
Standard EU and US pillow sizes. The listed size is the pillow area; ruffles and flanges extend beyond.

Style notes — what extends beyond the listed size:
- Housewife — no border, listed size = full external size
- Oxford — flat 5 cm / 2 in flange on all four sides; listed size is the inner sham, flange extends beyond
- Ruffle — single ruffle ~6 in / 15 cm on one open side; listed size does not include the ruffle
- Frilled — continuous frill ~3 in / 7.5 cm around all four sides
- Doubled Ruffle — two ruffles on one open side, ~1 in / 2.5 cm and ~6 in / 15 cm; listed size does not include the ruffles
Bed skirts
A flat deck panel sits on top of the box spring; the mattress holds it in place. No ties, no elastic. Available in four corner-and-pleat styles:
- Corners not split, pleats on the sides
- Corners not split, no pleats
- Split corners, pleats on the sides
- Split corners, no pleats

Napkins
Standard dinner and lunch sizes. See the size selector on each product. Edges hemmed clean.
EU ↔ US conversion
European and US bed sizes do not map cleanly to each other. A US Queen (60 × 80 in / 152 × 203 cm) sits roughly between an EU Double (140 × 200) and an EU King (160 × 200) — neither is a perfect fit. If your mattress is in inches, order the US sizes; if in centimetres, order the EU sizes. Don't try to convert across the chart.

Email info@linenowl.com with your mattress / pillow dimensions and the colour you want. Custom sizes are quoted per piece and have a longer production lead time. Custom orders are not returnable per the Returns policy.
