An oatmeal linen bed skirt in 170 GSM European linen, cut and sewn in our workshop near Riga.

Construction

A flat deck panel sits on top of the box spring; the mattress holds it in place. No ties, no elastic.

The fabric

170 GSM European linen, medium weight. The flax is European; the cut and sew is Latvian.

Care

Wash before first use — cold water, delicate cycle. The skirt is cut 3–5% oversized to absorb the natural shrinkage of linen; it settles to nominal size after 1–2 cold washes. For ongoing care, machine wash at 40 °C (104 °F) on a delicate cycle. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach. Ironing is not necessary; linen carries a soft crease naturally.

Certification and origin

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified — the fabric and thread are tested for substances that affect skin and lungs. The linen is European; the cut and sew is Latvian. No subcontracting.

Common questions

Should I wash this before first use?
Yes. New linen should always be washed before first use — cold water, delicate cycle. The skirt ships oversized and settles to nominal size after 1–2 cold washes.

Does linen shrink?
Yes — natural fibers shrink. Expect 3–5%. This skirt is cut oversized to absorb that, so the final fit matches the size you ordered.
