Construction

A single ruffle (~6 in / 15 cm) on one open side. Otherwise a clean housewife shape with envelope closure. The listed pillow size does not include the ruffle.

On the bed

One open side carries the ruffle; the other three stay plain. It accents the front edge of the bed rather than outlining the pillow, which is the difference between this and the frilled case.

Oatmeal suits a deep ruffle better than a flat panel does: the color is a mélange of bleached white and gray yarn, and gathered fabric catches the light unevenly, so the folds read as depth instead of as a shadow. The fabric

100% linen at 170 GSM, European, medium weight. Soft against skin after the first wash and softer with every subsequent one.

Care

Wash before first use — cold water, delicate cycle. The pillowcase is cut 3–5% oversized to absorb the natural shrinkage of linen; it settles to nominal size after 1–2 cold washes. Does linen shrink?
Yes — natural fibers shrink. Expect 3–5%. This pillowcase is cut oversized to absorb that, so the final fit matches the size you ordered.

What shade is oatmeal — will it fade or vary?
Oatmeal is a mélange: bleached white warp threads woven with a gray weft, giving a soft heathered tone. Slight color variation between batches is normal for mélange linen. The color does not fade with normal care.
