Construction
Hemmed on all sides. Generous cut — wide enough to tuck on both sides of a queen or king mattress.
Why US sizes only
Five US sizes, and nothing else. In most of Europe the duvet cover does the flat sheet's job, so we cut the sizes where the piece is actually used rather than padding a chart.
An oatmeal flat sheet earns its keep in summer, when it comes out from under the duvet and becomes the whole cover — which is when its color stops being a lining and starts being the bed. A mélange of bleached white and gray yarn reads warmer under a lamp than in daylight and sits against a white duvet cover without competing with it. Cut wide enough to tuck both sides of a queen or king. Sizes in inches and centimeters are in the size guide.
The fabric
100% linen at 170 GSM, European, medium weight. Breathable, drapes naturally, softens with every wash.
Care
Wash before first use — cold water, delicate cycle. The sheet is cut 3–5% oversized to absorb the natural shrinkage of linen; it settles to nominal size after 1–2 cold washes. For ongoing care, machine wash at 40 °C (104 °F) on a delicate cycle. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach. Ironing is not necessary; linen carries a soft crease naturally. Full details: linen care guide.
Certification and origin
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified — the fabric and thread are tested for substances that affect skin and lungs. The flax is European; every piece is cut and sewn in our own workshop near Riga, Latvia — not subcontracted, not relabelled from elsewhere.
Common questions
Should I wash this before first use?
Yes. New linen should always be washed before first use — cold water, delicate cycle. The sheet ships oversized and settles to nominal size after 1–2 cold washes.
Does linen shrink?
Yes — natural fibers shrink. Expect 3–5%. This sheet is cut oversized to absorb that, so the final fit matches the size you ordered.
What shade is oatmeal — will it fade or vary?
Oatmeal is a mélange: bleached white warp threads woven with a gray weft, giving a soft heathered tone. Slight color variation between batches is normal for mélange linen. The color does not fade with normal care.
Do I need a flat sheet if I use a duvet?
It's a matter of preference. Many sleepers add a flat sheet between body and duvet to keep the duvet cleaner between washes; others skip it.
