Ordered by the duvet, not by the bed
Match the cover to the duvet you own rather than to the bed it sits on. The selector carries 22 named sizes across UK/EU, US and Australian beds, plus a custom option that takes any width and length in centimeters or inches — we cut to it rather than telling you the size does not exist. Hidden buttons at the foot; corner ties on request if your duvet moves around inside the cover.
One thing to know about oatmeal at this scale. It is a mélange — bleached white warp against a gray weft — and a duvet cover is much the largest expanse of it you will own. Against a wall that reads as depth rather than as a flat block of color; against an oatmeal pillowcase bought a year later it is where a slight batch difference would show first, so buy the pillowcases with it if they are meant to match. Named sizes are compared in the size guide.
The fabric
The cloth is 100% linen. 170 GSM places it in the medium-weight range — breathable enough to keep cool through summer, dense enough to feel substantial in winter. One cover, both seasons.
How it changes
Linen softens with use. The cover arrives with a defined hand and a visible grain; after several washes it settles into a softer drape and the surface develops a slight texture. Color does not fade with normal washing.
Care
Wash before first use — cold water, delicate cycle. The cover is cut 3–5% oversized to absorb the natural shrinkage of linen; it settles to nominal size after 1–2 cold washes. For ongoing care, machine wash at 40 °C (104 °F) on a delicate cycle. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach. Ironing is not necessary; linen carries a soft crease naturally. Full details: linen care guide.
Certification and origin
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified — the fabric and thread are tested for substances that affect skin and lungs. The flax is European; every piece is cut and sewn in our own workshop near Riga, Latvia — not subcontracted, not relabelled from elsewhere.
Common questions
Should I wash this before first use?
Yes. New linen should always be washed before first use — cold water, delicate cycle. The cover ships oversized and settles to nominal size after 1–2 cold washes.
Does linen shrink?
Yes — natural fibers shrink. Expect 3–5%. This cover is cut oversized to absorb that, so the final fit matches the size you ordered.
What shade is oatmeal — will it fade or vary?
Oatmeal is a mélange: bleached white warp threads woven with a gray weft, giving a soft heathered tone. Slight color variation between batches is normal for mélange linen. The color does not fade with normal care.
Which size do I need?
EU and UK sizes (e.g. 200×200, 200×220, 240×220 cm), US sizes (Twin, Full, Queen, King, California King) and AU quilt-cover sizes are listed in the size selector above. Match the size to your insert, not your mattress.
