The fabric
170 GSM places this linen in the medium-weight range — breathable enough to keep cool through summer, dense enough to feel substantial in winter. One cover, both seasons. The fabric is European; the cut-and-sew happens in our Latvian workshop. Linen bedding made in Europe, not relabelled from elsewhere.
How it changes
Linen softens with use. The cover arrives with a defined hand and a visible grain; after several washes it settles into a softer drape and the surface develops a slight texture. Colour does not fade with normal washing.
Care
Wash before first use — cold water, delicate cycle. The cover is cut 3–5% oversized to absorb the natural shrinkage of linen; it settles to nominal size after 1–2 cold washes. For ongoing care, machine wash at 40 °C (104 °F) on a delicate cycle. Tumble dry low. Oxygen bleach is safe for white linen — do not use chlorine bleach. Ironing is not necessary; linen carries a soft crease naturally.
Certification and origin
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified — the fabric and thread are tested for substances that affect skin and lungs. The linen is European; the cut and sew is Latvian. No subcontracting.
Common questions
Should I wash this before first use?
Yes. New linen should always be washed before first use — cold water, delicate cycle. The cover ships oversized and settles to nominal size after 1–2 cold washes.
Does linen shrink?
Yes — natural fibers shrink. Expect 3–5%. This cover is cut oversized to absorb that, so the final fit matches the size you ordered.
Does white linen yellow over time?
Not with normal care. White linen yellows when stored damp or when bleached with chlorine. Wash, dry fully, store dry. Oxygen bleach is safe for occasional brightening.
Which size do I need?
EU sizes (e.g. 140×200, 200×220, 220×240 cm) and US sizes (Twin, Full/Queen, King, California King) are listed in the size selector above. Match the size to your insert, not your mattress.
