The set
Six identical napkins: one size, one color per set, 10% below six napkins bought singly. Choose the size in the selector above — eight options from 10×10 in / 25×25 cm to 24×24 in / 60×60 cm. Need just one? See the single oatmeal linen napkin.
Who buys six
Six covers a table of six, or a household of four with two in the wash — the point at which napkins stop being something you ration. In oatmeal the effect is a table that looks laid rather than staged: it is a mélange of bleached white and gray yarn, so six of them together read as texture instead of as a matching set.
Oatmeal hides the everyday marks white shows, and in exchange it cannot be bleached, so stains want treating promptly and washing cold. Against wood, linen or stoneware it is the easier of the two to live with. For what each of the eight sizes is for, see the napkin size guide.
The fabric
100% linen at 170 GSM, European, medium weight. Naturally absorbent, releases stains readily in the wash.
Care
Wash before first use — cold water, delicate cycle. The napkins are cut 3–5% oversized to absorb the natural shrinkage of linen; they settle to nominal size after 1–2 cold washes. For ongoing care, machine wash at 40 °C (104 °F). Do not bleach. Iron damp for a crisp finish if desired. Full details: linen care guide.
Certification and origin
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified — the fabric and thread are tested for substances that affect skin and lungs. The flax is European; every piece is cut and sewn in our own workshop near Riga, Latvia — not subcontracted, not relabelled from elsewhere.
Common questions
Should I wash the napkins before first use?
Yes. New linen should always be washed before first use — cold water, delicate cycle. The napkins ship oversized and settle to nominal size after 1–2 cold washes.
Does linen shrink?
Yes — natural fibers shrink. Expect 3–5%. These napkins are cut oversized to absorb that, so the final size matches the one you ordered.
What shade is oatmeal — will it fade or vary?
Oatmeal is a mélange: bleached white warp threads woven with a gray weft, giving a soft heathered tone. Slight color variation between batches is normal for mélange linen. The color does not fade with normal care.
Can I mix sizes or colors in one set?
Each set contains six identical napkins — same size, same color. For a mixed set, contact us: every order is sewn to order, so custom combinations are usually no problem.
Which size do I need?
Standard dinner and lunch sizes are listed in the size selector above.
