Color : Oatmeal

An oatmeal linen napkin in 100% linen at 170 GSM.

Also available as a set of 4 or a set of 6 — sets are priced below the equivalent singles.

When one is the right number

A single suits an odd number of seats, a mix of sizes on one table, or trying a size before committing to six of it. For four or six of the same size, buy the set instead — it is 7.5% and 10% below the same napkins bought singly, and we would rather say so than sell you six singles.

There is one caveat particular to buying oatmeal one at a time. Oatmeal is a mélange rather than a dye — bleached white warp against a gray weft — and slight variation between production batches is normal for it, as the questions below say. A single bought a year after the others will be very close but may not be identical. If the napkins are going on the table together, buy them together; if it is a spare or a replacement, the difference is one nobody has ever written to us about. The napkin size guide covers the eight sizes.

The fabric

100% linen at 170 GSM, European, the same panel used in our white and oatmeal bedding. Naturally absorbent, releases stains readily in the wash.

Care

Wash before first use — cold water, delicate cycle. The napkin is cut 3–5% oversized to absorb the natural shrinkage of linen; it settles to nominal size after 1–2 cold washes. For ongoing care, machine wash at 40 °C (104 °F) on a delicate cycle. Tumble dry low. Do not bleach. Ironing is not necessary; linen carries a soft crease naturally. Iron damp for a crisp finish if desired. Full details: linen care guide.

Certification and origin

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified — the fabric and thread are tested for substances that affect skin and lungs. The flax is European; every piece is cut and sewn in our own workshop near Riga, Latvia — not subcontracted, not relabelled from elsewhere.

Common questions

Should I wash this before first use?
Yes. New linen should always be washed before first use — cold water, delicate cycle. The napkin ships oversized and settles to nominal size after 1–2 cold washes.

Does linen shrink?
Yes — natural fibers shrink. Expect 3–5%. This napkin is cut oversized to absorb that, so the final fit matches the size you ordered.

What shade is oatmeal — will it fade or vary?
Oatmeal is a mélange: bleached white warp threads woven with a gray weft, giving a soft heathered tone. Slight color variation between batches is normal for mélange linen. The color does not fade with normal care.

Which size do I need?
Standard dinner and lunch sizes are listed in the size selector above.
