Construction
Two ruffles on one open side — one ~1 in / 2.5 cm, one ~6 in / 15 cm. Envelope closure on the back. The listed pillow size does not include the ruffles.
On the bed
The deepest edge we sew, and the only one built from two gathers: a narrow ruffle on top of a deep one, both on the same open side. The pair holds a line where a single ruffle can go limp.
It is made to face the room, with plainer cases behind it. Oatmeal is the reason to choose this one over the white: a mélange of bleached white and gray yarn gives the folds their own shading, so the doubled edge reads as depth rather than as decoration. The fabric
100% linen at 170 GSM, European, medium weight. Soft against skin after the first wash and softer with every subsequent one.
Care
Wash before first use — cold water, delicate cycle. The pillowcase is cut 3–5% oversized to absorb the natural shrinkage of linen; it settles to nominal size after 1–2 cold washes. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified — the fabric and thread are tested for substances that affect skin and lungs. The flax is European; every piece is cut and sewn in our own workshop near Riga, Latvia — not subcontracted, not relabelled from elsewhere.

Yes. New linen should always be washed before first use — cold water, delicate cycle. The pillowcase ships oversized and settles to nominal size after 1–2 cold washes.
Does linen shrink?
Yes — natural fibers shrink. Expect 3–5%. This pillowcase is cut oversized to absorb that, so the final fit matches the size you ordered.
What shade is oatmeal — will it fade or vary?
Oatmeal is a mélange: bleached white warp threads woven with a gray weft, giving a soft heathered tone. Slight color variation between batches is normal for mélange linen. The color does not fade with normal care.
